ZVONARSKA STREET SYNAGOGUE

In Zvonarska Street stands the oldest preserved synagogue in Košice. Dating from 1883, it is built in Moorish style. Just next to it is the entrance of the Jewish religious congregation and the prayer building. The courtyard contains the rabbi's apartment, the sheds and the cho'het's apartment (the person who slaughtered the animals and sold the meat), a kosher kitchen, the congregation's health centre, as well as the old ritual baths, mikveh.
