PHILHARMONIE D'ÉTAT (ŠTÁTNE FILHÁRMONIA)

The Košice State Philharmonic (Štátna filharmónia Košice[ŠfK]) is the second largest philharmonic orchestra in Slovakia. It has been based in Košice since its creation in 1968. It acquired an international reputation, becoming the first Slovak orchestra to play in the United States in 1994. The orchestra resides in a former neological synagogue built in 1927, whose main hall, now a concert hall, is topped by a dome.
