The former industrial wasteland in the heart of Ostrava has been redeveloped into an outstanding cultural attraction, which hosts the "Colors of Ostrava" music festival in July. On site, the reception is in a former gas storage unit, from where you can go on a tour that starts in the automated control room of the blast furnaces. This room, which was controlled by only two people, is a real dive into the seventies world of Soviet technology. You can pick up the phones, press all the buttons, turn the dimmers... The guide takes the opportunity to give a complete theoretical explanation of the functioning of the complex, before leading you into the old blast furnaces. This is a unique opportunity to get inside a blast furnace, to see the construction, the insulation, the operation and to follow the whole process of melting metal. This is followed by a tour to discover the wonders on display in the "small" world of technology. From the loom to the computer, from cars to submarines, everything here is interactive. Try out the steam engine or bend over backwards to ride a sputnik, drive a truck or pedal to provide electricity to the region... An exciting visit for young and old to end in the new panoramic glass tower, with its little café at the top for a spectacular view of the industrial complex.
