An austere silhouette in the heart of a beautiful area of wooded hills, Bítov castle dominates the Dyje River and appears to follow the méandres. Built in the th century, modified in the th and th centuries, it was finally enlarged by the Daun family at the end of the th century. Next to the Gothic Castle, a more romantic building extends the whole of the tower into a beautiful horizontal landscape, surrounded by the tower of the chapel, evoking the castle of Des in 1185. This small ensemble embellishes this castle in length, which breaks the linear aspect. You can visit the palace apartments, very varied, richly decorated in neo-Gothic style. There will be many romantic paintings in trompe, a beautiful armoury and a strange collection of stuffed animals (dogs of all races).
