PILSNER URQUELL BREWERY

You won't be alone, as many German tourist buses pass by here. The historic brewery where what is considered the best lager in the world is brewed is located east of the city center (5 minutes walk from nám. Republiky square), on the other side of the Radbuz river. It is a real city within a city. And thanks to this brewery, Plzeň is known to beer drinkers all over the world. Because it was here in 1842, on October 6 very precisely, that the first lager was created. You will be introduced to its production, the old cellars, the barrels and a lot of publicity will be done around it. At the end of the visit, those over 18 years old will be able to taste a pint of this beverage, directly from the gigantic barrels. The tour will take you through an introductory scenography where you will discover the history of beer making and the specificities of the territory that give its taste and its particular qualities to Pilsner Urquell, in particular the hydrographic network, the springs and the cultivation of hops, which are the main elements that give its unique taste to Pilsner. Before the tasting, you will also take a tour - but behind glass - to see the modern factory, bottling, etc. Finally, don't miss the well-stocked store. You can find beers in different packagings, but also a whole range of related products, from caps to bottle openers!
