YORKSHIRE MUSEUM
From Prehistory to the Middle Ages, the oldest hours of York are revisited here. It's sort of the museum that comes before the castle in the timeline, which is smaller and less rich. It still houses an interesting catalogue of Roman parts found in archaeological excavations, including a famous Buste bust. The Vikings have their helmets, their weapons and their amber jewellery exposed; and medieval side, there are fragments of architecture and pieces of arches worked. The masterpiece undoubtedly remains a group of th century sculptures representing three prophets of the Old Testament. Many statues throughout the establishment and a room dedicated to religious and funeral rites. A wing is also reserved for natural history with some small skeletons of dinosaurs and seabed.
