CLIFF RAILWAY

A 300 m long funicular connects the towns of Lynton and Lynmouth. It has been in existence since 1890. This is one of the last two systems of this kind in the world, because the passenger car is offset by a ballast of 700 gallons of water (about 175 litres). At the peak of the steep slope, we will gradually see the beautiful panorama drawing: the blue sea, the green coast notched… and without effort!
