CASTLE TENNIS COURT

Falmouth Castle was built between 1540 and 1542, during the reign of Henry VIII, to defend the south coast from French and Spanish attacks. Its 450 years of history are told on site. It has a pronounced military look, with its circular keep and cannons. Its strategic location over the centuries has also made it a stronghold of British defense during the two world wars and this past is still present, with fortifications and weaponry. Throughout the year, Pendennis Castle hosts a variety of events, including historical re-enactments and live performances.
