PORTSMOUTH MUSEUM

The building itself is worth a look, with its red brick towers. The museum tells the story of Portsmouth and its people, through social, artistic, literary, sporting, industrial and military history. The various wings retrace the life of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the works of painter Edward King, the development of the city, the local fervor for soccer and the geography of the region. It's an interesting way to understand the destiny of this port city with its rich and tragic past.
