Overlooking the sea, the university offers splendid views. The art gallery, an elegant four-storey building with a modern version of a Chinese garden, is a veritable showcase for art. Its temporary exhibitions celebrate local creativity, while the permanent collections are fascinatingly rich: 1,300 paintings and calligraphic works, 300 bronze seals from the Han dynasty and over 400 carved jade flowers. Well worth a visit.
