VAGZAL (GARE ROUTIÈRE)

There are regular buses between Khojand and Istaravshan. To go to Dushanbe, you are obliged to use shared taxis, no regular line ensures liaison. The border with Uzbekistan is open in two areas quickly accessible from Khojand: the first allows to visit Tashkent by crossing the border to Oybek, the second is located in the east, in the town of Kanibadam, and allows to join the Ferghana Valley. Some buses make it possible to cross the border, but we must expect to spend time in cross-border formalities. Most buses towards the Ferghana valley depart from the bus station located in the south-east of the city. Those in the direction of Tashkent and Samarkand depart from the station west of the city (the old train station). Nevertheless, find out about the opening of the border between the two countries! This is also where buses go to southern Tajikistan (Istaravshan and Penjikent).
