MONUMENTS TO THE DEFENDERS OF THE MOTHERLAND

Just a few steps from the canal leading to the Ichim, this monument is dedicated to the victims of the great patriotic war, the end of which is celebrated with a day of delay relative to the West, on 9 May 1945, corresponding to the date on which the German armies sign the end of fighting with the Soviet army. The whole consists of an eternal flame facing a statue of women, as in all the republics of Central Asia, symbolizing the mother or woman weeping sons or husbands. Frescoes evoke the great hours of Kazakhstan's history with the Silk road and the Timourids armies, and finally the Soviet period corresponding to victory over fascism.
