CHIESA SANTA MARIA DELLA STRADA

Built in the ^12th century, in the middle of the countryside, it is one of the most interesting religious buildings in Molise, very well preserved in its original structure. The church has a rectangular floor plan with three naves and a facade with three portals, two of which are walled and topped by tympanums decorated with friezes and other sculptures. According to some interpretations, the complex ornamentation of the facade would represent episodes from French-Italian chansons de geste.
