CATTEDRALE DI SAN MASSIMO

Dating back to the xivth century, the cathedral of Penne houses a crucifix of period wood and its crypt, where remains of votive paintings from the thirteenth and xiv centuries, preserves the relics of Saint Maxime. An aerial raid in 1944 destroyed much of the building, and then a restoration in 1955 radically altered the Romanesque aspect of the cathedral.
