The museum covers the past, from prehistory to the Middle Ages. The part dedicated to Roselle is particularly interesting. Founded under the Etruscan era, this city dominated a hill, ensuring a position that was difficult for the enemy to take. Its fall dates back to 294 B.C. when the Roman Empire seized it for nearly eight centuries. Roselle lost all importance in 1138, when the diocese of the region moved to modern Grosseto.
