On the east coast, Rio Marina is one of the three ports of arrival on the island of Elba, along with Portoferraio and Cavo. The crossing between Piombino and Rio Marina is operated by the ferry company Toremar, among others, and takes about 45 minutes. Up to four crossings per day in winter and ten in high season. Count about fifteen euros per passenger, about fifty euros for a car. From Rio Marina, it is also possible to dock on the island of Pianosa: once a day in low season (more departures in summer), count 1h50 of journey.
