Every year since 1966, the medieval town of Lucca has been transformed for five days by this famous and important festival of comics, manga and role-playing games. With a record attendance of 400,000 at recent editions, Lucca Comics & Games, Europe's oldest comic book festival, founded by a Franco-Italian team, is an undeniable success. Exhibitions, seminars and prize-giving ceremonies are held every year, and several authors of the ninth art are invited and honored.
