Not sure whether the waitress is hardhearing or just doesnt speak english that well, but it was abundantly clear that all orders in English were somewhat wrong. the steak was way too salty either and "medium-rare" was understood as half rare and half well done. I could almost hear the cow moo

I searched on Google for an authentic place where locals are eating and discovered La Grotta. Did not disappoint at all!
The food was very good and very tasty and the place had its charm. Tried the homemade pasta and something with pork (forgot the name of the dish). And the dessert was a fusion between baklava and cheese cake...that was amazing. Totally recommand!

Il locale è accogliente e originale la musica di sottofondo bella e a volume giusto, il servizio impeccabile, un poco di ritardo nel servizio ma assolutamente fisiologico cibo ottimo assolutamente consigliato "l'orzotto" (se vi piace con aggiunta di tartufo) per me è stato amore a primo assaggio, torneremo presto alla prossima mostra a Palazzo blù, seguirà cena alla grotta.

Storico ristorante pisano aperto anche a pranzo. Esperienza che poteva essere buona ma con eccessi che hanno rovinato un po' tutto.
L'ambiente è piacevole e rusticamente curato, ma c'è una volta di finta roccia. La vellutata era buona ma non proprio abbondante. Le cosce di pollo erano gradevoli ma non molto cotte e accompagnate da una verdura salatissima. La buonissima panna cotta è rovinata dal caramello di accompagnamento che stucca da morire. Il cioccolato è buono ma davvero troppo dolce. Servizio abbastanza lento. Prezzi contenuti.
(aggiunta) Data la risposta del proprietario, prenoterò una visita dal medico sia per me che per chi mi ha accompagnato, dato che entrambi abbiamo trovato la ganasce troppo dolce e l'accompagnamento al pollo troppo salato.

Tutto davvero eccellente: cibo (sia come qualità sia come peculiarità delle portate), servizio (personale puntuale, gentile e molto accogliente), rapporto qualità-prezzo. Ci torneremo senz'altro e lo consigliamo senza esitazione!

Nous avons visité le restaurant La Grotta Pisa situé à Via San Francesco, Pise, PI, Italie, pour un déjeuner rapide avant de partir visiter la célèbre tour de Pise. Bien que mon expérience ait été globalement satisfaisante, je dois dire que le repas n'était pas exceptionnel.
Tout d'abord, permettez-moi de souligner les aspects positifs. L'ambiance du restaurant était agréable, avec une décoration chaleureuse et une atmosphère accueillante. Le personnel était également courtois et attentif, ce qui a contribué à rendre notre repas plus agréable.
En ce qui concerne la nourriture, les plats que nous avons commandés étaient bons, mais ils ne se démarquaient pas particulièrement. Les saveurs étaient correctes, mais il manquait ce petit quelque chose qui aurait pu rendre le repas mémorable. Les portions étaient adéquates, mais je m'attendais à plus de créativité dans la présentation des plats.
De plus, j'ai trouvé que les prix étaient un peu élevés par rapport à la qualité des plats proposés. Bien que je comprenne que les restaurants situés dans des zones touristiques peuvent avoir des prix plus élevés, j'aurais espéré obtenir un meilleur rapport qualité-prix.
En résumé, ma visite au restaurant La Grotta Pisa a été correcte, mais sans être extraordinaire. Si vous recherchez un endroit décent pour un déjeuner rapide avant de visiter la tour de Pise, c'est une option acceptable. Cependant, si vous êtes à la recherche d'une expérience culinaire exceptionnelle, vous pourriez être déçue.

Long waiting time. Locals are served with priority. Risotto was very salty. Great look of the dishes but not very tasty in our case.

We had an exceptionally good meal at La Grotta. It was delicious and different, beautifully presented and excellent value. We will definitely go back if we return to Pisa. Highly recommended.

You never know what to expect in Pisa but this was a gem. Interesting food in a fun atmosphere. We will go again.
