In Santissima Annunziata Square, the absolute address for those looking for a dive into history and a unique experience.

The absolute address to immerse yourself in history and live a unique experience. The hotel was built between 1517 and 1527 by the Order of the Servants of Mary to accommodate pilgrims going to Rome. The family that bought it rebuilt it exactly the same. The original facade is similar to Brunelleschi's. The decoration respects the hotel tradition of the past with large canopy beds and large fabrics. The rooms offer the comfort of a luxury chain... splendid!

The heating did not work with the excuse that they have turned it to cooling, with an outside temperature in Florence of 9 degrees, unacceptable.

This hotel in Florence does not offer air conditioning until the very hot months of summer. My husband and I visited in April 2024 when some days were 85 degrees F. He had trouble sleeping restfully without air conditioning.
We reserved a Classic room that was nothing like the pictures on their website. Pictures of the room we were given do not appear on their website at all. Their "period furnishings" online description is more accurately described as tired, faded furnishings with a stained rug, no drawers and electrical problems. The female staff and the bellboy were very accomodatimg but some of the male staff at the front desk were not interested in our discomfort and unapologetic. More of a "take it or leave it" attitude.

A very friendly, attentive staff. Just blocks from the Duomo with small restaurants and shops along the way. We had a variety of rooms, from a single to a large suite. None of them disappointed. I laid in bed with a view of the Dome!

The lady at lobby at first meet till check out is very unfriendly. The bell boy is also similar. Complaining on our suitcase. I have to wake up whole night because of the life is very loud. Terrible hotel, I made a reservation by mistake a month earlier and they did not help with changing the reservation to correct date, only accepting a non refundable cancellation.
