When to go Milan ?
The best time to explore the city is in spring and autumn. Milan is not a highly touristy destination, so tourist invasions and long queues are not a problem. Beware, however, of the summer heat, the August and first week of January closures, and the periods of fashion week and major trade shows when housing prices soar.
Milan's climate is humid subtropical, with hot and humid summers (15/29°C), cold and sometimes snowy winters (-1/+6°C) and potential rainfall throughout the year. Fog (nebbia) can cover the city, especially in the south, in winter. The Alpine barrier ensures the mildness of spring. With little ventilation, Milan keeps particularly hot in summer. The high tourist season is in September and October, the low season in January, February, March and November and December.
