Stylish Osteria in the Brera district, which boasts the patronage of the writer whose name it bears. This restaurant offers a number of culinary surprises in the warm, friendly atmosphere of a chic brasserie. The famous risotto giallo (with saffron) and Milanese cutlet are exquisite, as are pasta with potatoes, porcini mushrooms and cheese, osso buco and truffle risotto. Flavors harmoniously blended and served with savoir-faire in a very Milanese setting, with a lovely terrace in season.

Tried this popular restaurant near my hotel and was not disappointed. The place was packed but service was still friendly and fast. We ordered some of their signature dishes and was not disappointed. Too bad we were already too full to try their desserts. Overall great food and even though it was crowded, the food came fast and service was impeccable and friendly as well. Make sure you reserve in advance if you are keen to eat here.

Nothing wrong with the food I had a pasta in cream sauce with mushrooms but I'm an American and I recognize that my ideas of Italian food is what the tourist would eat which is chicken parm with pasta on the side. Again the pasta was fresh, had a great flavor but was kind of one note... for me I needed a meat to accompany the pasta to break up the flavors. However, the staff was great and the drinks were good as well.

It's a rather cosy place to eat the famous Milanese cotoletta. It's served with fried potatoes, but I asked to replace them with mashed potatoes. It's a huge portion, so beware, I haven't managed to finish it. :(
