In a neighborhood that seems entirely dedicated to contemporary trends, this culinary institution still offers Milanese cuisine faithful to family recipes. The classic risotto alla milanaise (with yellow saffron), breaded cutlet, pasta with beans and roast veal "drowned" in risotto. Marrow bone and panettone are also a must, and by far the most popular items on the menu. A fine table wine to accompany it all. For nostalgic diners and lovers of the authentic.

WOW! My mouth is watering as I am thinking back to our amazing dinner at Al Matarel! We wanted to try a restaurant that served traditional risotto, and our hotel recommended this place. It was about a 15 minute walk from our hotel, and well worth it! The restaurant isn't very large or modern, but it is filled with Italian personality! From the paintings on the wall to the adorable, little woman cutting up fresh fruit and waving at us, we were enchanted! I ordered the Risotto alla Monzese while my husband ordered the Ossobuco with risotto. The Ossobuco was the most unbelievable dish I have every tried! It was phenomenal! I will forever try to find a restaurant in California that can match it! The service was top-notch and the experience was wonderful! I highly recommend eating here, and make sure you get the Ossobuco!

Shocked as we were not allowed to enter the restaurant with a baby stroller. We even asked to fold it and leave at the counter, still the old lady owner said - „no“ on the third time.
So no review for food.

Sempre una certezza. Sempre tutto buono dalle lumache all'osso buco. Da provare assolutamente se siete a Mediolanum!
