LI TSACOLÉ D’AYAS
Craftsmanship
Recommended
Need to get your shoes on? Good news: the skills of the old sabotiers, or tsacolé, have not been completely lost. This cooperative of craftsmen, in the center of Antagnod, has maintained the old traditions of wood carving and sculpture. In the workshop, a free permanent exhibition traces the history and reveals all the secrets of this craft so characteristic of the valley. This is one of the last places where you can buy these typical peasant shoes, highly prized today as souvenirs or decorative objects.
