MUSEUM OF MINERALOGY AND PALEONTOLOGY

The museum's mineral science collections comprise some 750 items, most of which come from localities close to Saint-Vincent, in particular Mont Barbeston, Emarèse, Brusson and Champorcher, sites renowned for their mineral wealth. The finest and rarest come from the region's many gold, iron, magnetite and asbestos mines, which are no longer in operation. The museum also features a collection of 170 fossils.
