Church with a superb Romanesque stone bell tower of 40 meters high.

From the Parc d'Auguste, you can admire the magnificent Romanesque bell tower of the church of Sainte-Marie-Majeure, closed to worship in 1749. It has become private property and therefore cannot be visited. It can only be contemplated from the outside, especially its superb Romanesque stone bell tower, almost 40 metres high. It is probably the oldest church in the town, as it is mentioned in a written document dating back to around the year 1000.
