Located 15 km northeast of Tyre, it is a village perched on the top of a hill. It offers a surprising landscape. Formerly populated by 750 people, Derdghayia now has only 20 inhabitants mostly present on weekends. The village with a Christian majority emptied its inhabitants from 1975. Most emigrated to the United States or Canada. Derdghayia keeps its homes at the beginning of the century of stones worn by time and wild herbs. No one has undertaken to restore his property. Its visit to the middle of narrow lanes provides a strange, relaxing sensation, excellent setting for leisurely walking. UNESCO had undertaken to classify this village in the world heritage but the project had not yet been completed.A'ite'family has embarked on the construction of a mosque whose two minarets are in a drop in water. Members of this family are now buried in this mosque never finished.
