Often forgotten by tourist leaflets, Akkar, located in the northeast of Tripoli, has remained a very rural and relatively inaccessible region. From Tripoli to Halba (26 km), the Alba of the Crusaders, the road crosses a bucolic landscape dotted with fruit trees and green meadows, which is worth the trip.Unfortunately, it is not very easy to travel by public transport because of the long distances between the sites to be visited and the absence of buses or service taxis. If you have the opportunity, the best solution is to discover this region by car. Be careful, however, its proximity to the Syrian border and especially to the city of Homs makes it a particularly sensitive region.
