ELPIDA

This small, unnamed square (Градскиот Плоштад) forms the center of the city. Rather pleasant, it is bordered by the Kočanska River and a pedestrian walkway to the west, Revolution Park to the south, and the Beli-Mugri Cultural Center(The White Dawns, a 1939 collection of poems by Kočo Racin) to the north. The square itself is square in shape and houses the statue of the Macedonian Bulgarian revolutionary Nikola Karev (1877-1905) and busts of partisans Ljupčo Santov and Rade Kratovče.
