MAKFEST

MakFest (МакФест) is the country's most important folk music festival. Held in Štip since 1986, it mainly features artists from the former Yugoslavia and, since independence in 1991, has given rise to a national competition to elect North Macedonia's representative at Eurovision. November also sees the Animax animation film festival in Skopje (animaxskopjefest.mk) and several folk festivals in Ohrid (iffom.com).
