Planned to rise 53 m high, this cathedral (Православна Катедрала/Pravoslavna Katedrala) remains unfinished in front of a large intersection. Started in 1992, the work was interrupted in 2012 due to lack of money. The seat of the Macedonian Orthodox Eparchy of Strumica remains the small church-cathedral of Saints Cyril and Methodius (1911) located 100 m south of the Strumica Museum. Next to the unfinished cathedral is the Chapel of St. Gregory Palamas (2002).
