TAKSIRAT FESTIVAL

This festival (Таксират Фестивал) is one of the very few gatherings of rock, pop and electronic bands to be held in winter in the Balkans. Created in 1998 by young amateurs, Taksirat now attracts around 15,000 spectators to Skopje's Boris-Trajkovski sports center. It has welcomed artists such as Manu Chao, Jean-Michel Jarre, Iggy Pop, The Roots and Tricky. In 2011, the same organizers also created the D Festival, which takes place over three days between late June and early July in Dojran (dfestival.mk).
