Not far from the cathedral, this restaurant is a real institution. La Casa di Ferrara (Ca' d'Frara in dialect) offers dishes from the Ferrarese tradition, but also a creative land and sea menu, with inventive and colourful plates, mixing local products in a beautiful balance of flavours. Everything is prepared with finesse and served in a room with elegant lines. Among the specialties: homemade pasta, bollito misto, wood-fired meats and eel, to be drizzled with a good Italian wine. It's just delicious.

Cibo ottimo, servizio impreciso con gaffe sui vini, ambiente nella norma. Locale un po' improvvisato, con larghi margini di miglioramento

Mangiato bene anche se le porzioni erano poco "generose". Prezzo nella norma, servizio un po' lento ma camerieri molto attenti e gentili. Di contro la proprietaria è risultata alquanto spigolosa, poco cordiale e non è possibile che non abbia l'American Express tra i propri sistemi di pagamento!

Tijdens werkbezoek aangekomen in Ferrara, stad van de Renaissance in de Podelta. Wij werden in de avond getrakteerd op een diner bij Cà d'Frara Trattoria Moderna.
Een Trattoria met aandacht voor de Ferrarese traditie en haar belangrijkste gastronomische hoogstandjes. Wij hebben hier heerlijk gegeten. Het voorgerecht L'antipsto tipico was een mooi verzorgd bord met heerlijke Italiaanse vleeswaren. Met daarbij een Gnocco fritto dat is gefrituurd brood in de Italiaanse keuken uit de regio Emilia. De vleeswaren smelten op de tong. Het was een heerlijke starter.
Voor het hoofdgerecht had ik gekozen voor Tagliata di Bavetta di Angus. Het werd geserveerd met verdure stagionali in padellotto met een salsa van chimichurry.
Dat is Bavette met seizoensgroente. Nog een heerlijk gerecht waarbij wij een heerlijke Chianti Classico dronken.
Als dessert kregen wij een heerlijke Tenerina al Ciocollato e bicchierino al Mascarpone. Dat is chocoladetaart met Mascarpone.
Het was genieten. De bediening is zeer behulpzaam om jou een fijne avond te bezorgen. De sfeer is heerlijk Italiaans.
