Ristorante Grassilli is a popular restaurant among the people of Bologna. It is located in a picturesque street near two medieval towers, which adds to its charm. The dishes are prepared with great care and are not only tasty but also healthy and unpretentious. The staff is particularly attentive and charming, which makes dining at Ristorante Grassilli even more enjoyable. Nevertheless, due to its popularity, reservations are recommended.
I must admit I’m biased as I’ve known the chef Jean David for many years but I was surprised today to find him and his food evolved so much in the past years, more mature and rounded than ever before.
If you really want to experience Bologna you must have a lunch or dinner at Grassilli, it represents the town and its people, with all its controversies and hidden gems.
Like all good things in life you need to be deliberate and book your table well in advance otherwise you risk not being able to experience it but a little bit of planning will reward you.
As for the food , I’m not in a position to give you any advice as I liked all of it but if can try to share the food and taste as much as possible, let them surprise you.
A personal suggestion, leave you phones behind, go there with someone you care about and just let the food enrich your conversation, you’ll end up with some great memories.
