OSSERVATORIO ASTRONOMICO

The centerpiece of the Trieste Observatory is the "Specola Margherita Hack". On the first floor, the permanent exhibition recounts the scientific history of astronomers in Trieste and Giuliano since 1750. On the upper floor, in the cupola, a modern telescope, with a 60 cm-diameter main mirror, is equipped with automatic pointing of celestial objects. An optical system also projects high-definition images onto the dome, transforming it into a high-quality planetarium. Visits must be booked in advance on the website.
