Lough Eske (meaning 'fish lake') is just 9 kilometres from Donegal and is accessible by car or bike at the foot of the Blue Stack Mountains. This charming body of water offers great opportunities for walking and cycling. But this small lake of about 3 km2 lives up to its name, as it also invites you to fish for brown trout (open from March to October) and salmon (from March to September). Indeed, its twelve islands are hiding places for fish and a choice spot for fishermen.

Nous avons passés 2 nuits autour de Lough Eske , c'est à la sortie de Donegal . Un petit havre de paix . Même si il y a des hôtels de tailles conséquentes , ils arrivent à ne pas être trop vus , grâce à la végétation environnante. C'est une belle réserve ornithologique également. Vraiment un lieu idéal pour faire un petit repas champêtre. Par chance nous n'avons pas été attaqué par les midges. Et puis s'en oublier que l'on a une superbe vue sur les montagnes alentours.
