Majestic Catholic cathedral near Salmon Weir Bridge, one of Europe's newest stone cathedrals.
Galway Catholic Cathedral is also (simply!) called the Cathedral of Our Lady Assumed into Heaven and St Nicholas. Built between 1958 and 1965 near Salmon Weir Bridge, it is one of the newest stone cathedrals in Europe. Dedicated to Our Lady of the Assumption and St Nicholas, this imposing cathedral is striking in its size, the height of its nave and its remarkable dome rising to over 44 metres. The cathedral in Galway is huge and majestic, a testament to the importance of Catholicism in the lives of the Irish.

Cathedral without much interest except for its appearance that clashes compared to its date of construction. It was built with stones prison which was in the same place before.

Cependant, l'intérieur très surprenant vaut quand même le coup d’œil !
Je recommande quand même une petite visite pour découvrir ces vitraux et son histoire !
