The museum, located in the Customs House, is a Palladian-style museum with a valuable collection of objects and art from prehistoric times to the 18th century. It is a private collection that belonged to the Hunt family of antiquarians who donated it to the state. The art and antiquities of Ireland are particularly present. A Bronze Age shield, a Viking silver necklace, a selection of crucifixes, the Galway chalice and an incredible carved Apollo (16th century). Also paintings by Picasso, Renoir, Yeats...
