The best Swedish restaurants Uppsala

The setting of this restaurant is very rustic and authentic, you would really think you were in a converted cellar. Some of the walls are said to date from the ^13th century. The cuisine is essentially Swedish, so you can taste all the traditional dishes of the country. You can eat reindeer with cabbage purée, elk meatballs with pickled cucumber and cranberries, or poached reindeer fillet with mushrooms, one of the house specialties. What a delight! A nice place to discover the local cuisine in a pleasant atmosphere.

Ofvandahl, a Swedish poet of the 19th century, definitely missed his vocation! His contemporaries always considered him a very bad poet, and curiously his house has become a very popular café-tea house, where people queue up to taste delicious cakes. As a small plaque at the entrance says, generations of students have passed through here. Also classic dishes (lasagne, sandwiches and salads) for a reasonable price. Come and have a nice meal in the house of this cursed poet!
