Former cathedral in neo-Gothic style, in the center of Ouidah, the largest in the country and in West Africa
This ancient cathedral with its neo-gothic architecture stands in the center of the city of Ouidah. Its construction was completed at the very beginning of the 20th century, in 1909. It played an important role in the sub-region and even in West Africa. Indeed, at its conception, in addition to being the largest church in the country, it was the largest in West Africa and played an important role in the evangelization of Benin and the surrounding countries.

Une cathédrale moderne qui présente peu d'intérêt (joli toit en bois) hormis l'observation des fidèles et de leurs pratiques particulières, notamment le week-end (mariages, enterrements à la mode locale). Une grotte de Lourdes est située sur le chemin de croix autour de la cathédrale.
