One of the favourite addresses of Indonesians for the great days. Grilled or fried fish specialities. We eat on the ground in "gubuhs" (bamboo pavilion). Book if possible the 22 or 23 gubuhs above the water, facing the rice fields.

On the road to the airport, Ibu Suharti mounted a chain of local restaurants specialized in fried coco chicken and engaged in a commercial war without mercy against Pak Suharti, her husband, who mounted a rival chain. Don't go for the very basic frame or for the tranquillity because the restaurant is on the edge of the road, but to taste this fried coconut chicken marvel. This is an institution in Yogya!

There is also an eccentric address, on the road to the airport (go by taxi), known tour operators as well. Several themed gardens (jazz, classical, Latin, Indonesian, cellar, romantic…) and original but also international dishes (including Indian and Italian). A pleasant wine list. And in the middle coule a river!

Very good pizza cooked pizza on site or to take away. The service is sometimes rather limited. Change in any case the fried rice regime!
