JOACHIM TOZE : LE PETIT VIEUX AUX ALLUMETTES
You may cross one night on the terrace of a blast, this honorable Old Father who sells, carefully presented in his small briefcase, a assortment of packages of matches covered with colored pagnes. These modest samples with impeccable finishes and shimmering shades are just a tiny overview of Joachim's great talent, a tireless worker who cannot tell his exact age or the exact date he arrived in Côte d 'Ivoire. In his Abobo workshop as a brocante of another age, he telescoped into a fatras of mixed objects intertwined with the memories of the different lives he carried out and the vestiges of the trades exercised: typographer, interior decorator, mason… and more recently craftsman working with a great happiness and application. Joachim produces robes, bags, travel kits, toilets or pencils, and of course a thousand and a box of matches forming a vibrating patchwork of simple or compartmentalized cardboard on its work plan. Every night, he digs his old bike and travels the long distance separating Abobo from the beautiful quarters to explore the capital terraces until midnight, in the hope of collecting a recipe that will allow him to buy the raw material to expand his creations and grow gradually. Very sincerely, its boxes of matches, small works of art in its own right, are so crumbling that you find it very annoying when choosing. An original gift idea combining the useful to aesthetics, which will bring a touch of appreciable gaiety in the kitchens and pockets.
NB: you can call Joachim to agree on an appointment, or go to him directly at his workshop, whose visit is really worth the detour!
