Here's a perfect place to retreat from the world, right in the middle of nature. The Fluturica cabana is located high up in the Țibau mountains, on the edge of Bucovina, 25 km from Ciocănești. To get there, you have to hike for 30 minutes through the forest (or get a ride in a 4 x 4). Up there, the view is splendid. The hut was bought from a Hutsul shepherd by a Suceava geographer, who refurbished it while retaining its authenticity and rustic feel. It's a great starting point for hikes to the Țibau and Fluturica peaks.

Set in a bucolic valley, just off the main road, this guesthouse offers simple, clean double and triple rooms. Some share a bathroom. The friendly Viorica can prepare a picnic lunch for you on days out, or cook traditional dishes for dinner: sarmale, ciorbe and even fresh fish caught in the property's own pond. You can also take a walk in the surrounding hills, where you can visit shepherds' huts(stâne).

On the outskirts of the village, slightly set back from the road, this property enjoys an appreciable peace and quiet.
