CENTRE-VILLE

It is organized around piața Libertății. This small, long pedestrian square is bordered by the large Elisabeta Park. Nearby are a number of interesting buildings, such as the Hungarian National Theatre, in a corner of the square, or the arcaded house(Casa cu arcade, 1821), located strada Libertății. Just behind it lies the Sfântul Gheorghe Orthodox Cathedral, built in 1802. To the north of the city, in strada Cetății, you can visit the ^14th-century fortified Reformed church, surrounded by ramparts flanked by a massive bell tower.
