The Dragoner square, at the intersection of Strada 9 May and Strada Ocnei, can be considered the centre of the lower city. It dates back to the th and th centuries and is considered the oldest place in the city. From the beautiful Gothic style, there are many houses which border the border from the th to the th centuries. Until 1976, there was a Baroque and neo-classical building in 1800, which once housed the siege of the Austrian dragons.
