National Cemetery. This place, considered a sacred centre of democracy, celebrates the memory of those who gave their lives fighting the authoritarian regime.

May 18th Memorial. This memorial is a true museum of democracy in South Korea.

Park of the memory of May 18. Situated in Sangmudae, this small island, at first sight without much interest, shelters a park in homage to the events of May 18th.

Democracy bell. This imposing bell bears the inscription "bell of democracy" written in the hand of former President Kim Daejung.
