ACADÉMIE CONFUCIANISTE BYEONGSAN SEOWON

It's a small seowon, but one of the most delicious in Korea. The site is enchanting, facing the river and the cliff. It includes dormitories, classrooms and a sanctuary dedicated to Confucius where Ryu Seong-nyong's tablets are kept. After his death, this sanctuary and the academy were founded in his memory. At the very bottom is one of the most interesting pavilions in Korea. Built on stilts facing the river, it is connected to the ground by a toothed wooden footbridge.
