Stroll along the east coast from Samcheok southwards, through villages and beaches, Deokgu hot spring for relaxation.
Starting from the town of Samcheok and heading south, many small villages and beaches lie on our way and are pleasant stops to recharge our batteries, far from the sometimes oppressive hubbub of the big cities. Going along the east coast, if you want to go to Gyeongju (in the Gyeongsangbukdo region) for example, is a very attractive option. Along the way, you will find many restaurants and hotels along the way. This itinerary is highly recommended for those who wish to discover the intimate side of Korea and its (very warm) people.
The beaches: JANGHO 장호 해수욕장, in the city of Samcheok. A really pleasant beach where you can enjoy a bewitching crystal clear water; GUSAN 구산 해수욕장, north of Pyeonghae. Large, clean and pine lined beach. To the south is the Wolsongjeong pavilion, surrounded by tombs, steles and ponds. One of the wonders of the coast; YONGHWA 용화해변, 24 km from Samcheok. Pretty beach in a bay where a river flows; CHILPO, large and nice beach, a favourite place of the inhabitants of Pohang who rush there every summer and near which one can find campgrounds.
The villages : GUNGCHEON 궁천, small village with pine trees, a nice beach and, near the sea, a temple and a royal tomb; IMWON 임원, big harbour village, between sea and mountains.
To relax: SOURCE THERMAL DEOKGU 덕구, 27 km west of Uljin. It is a large complex in the heart of the mountains, dedicated to well-being.
