Menjangan, a charming island to visit and discover Bali's most beautiful coral reefs, a great place for diving.
The island is recognized as having the most beautiful coral reefs in Bali. We swim in turquoise water, amidst schools of metallic blue fish, clown fish, multicolored corals ... The clarity of the sea and the accidents of relief, with cracks and drop-offs, allow unforgettable underwater trips. A beautiful fauna and above all an ecologically preserved place make it a source of unparalleled joy.
Scuba divers will be spoilt for choice, as Menjangan is home to a variety of dive sites in its vicinity. For snorkeling, you can start from the small pier at Labuhan Lalang by contacting the national park office. The best spot is the one on the left side of the pier, when you are on the island facing the sea. The surveillance of the Menjangan islet is mainly done from the side of the pier which allows the corals to be preserved. On the other hand, behind the islet the corals have been largely damaged in recent years. Despite the ban and the fact that the place is protected, some fishermen come to fish with dynamite and escape the surveillance of guards mainly focused on the pier. Would the most beautiful seabed of Bali be threatened? We are entitled to ask ourselves this question during our last visit.
For diving trips, you should contact the diving clubs of Pemuteran or Lovina to discover them.
Be careful, during the rainy season, the islet may be heavily polluted by waste. You have been warned.
