Eight hundred years of military history are presented through the permanent exhibition of this museum located north of the Neustadt, in a historic arsenal complemented by an ultramodern building of the star architect Daniel Libeskind (also architect of the famous Jewish Museum in Berlin). Unique in its kind, this educational museum focuses on the origins and consequences of war and violence. With over 1,2 million objects exposed on a surface of 20 000 m 2, it is the largest museum in the city of Dresden. Its interactive design makes it an interesting visit to the family.
