The citadel of Arg, fortress of the th century, and the palace of Karim Khan dominate the great pedestrian place of Shiraz. At the time of the Dynastie dynasty, culminating in the Safavides and Nadir Shah (rule 1736-1747), Shiraz became the capital of the Persian Empire with the aim of supplant Isfahan in the collective imagination. Note its four towers in perfect condition and its excellently preserved walls. See on the main door Rostam, mythical Persian hero, down the white demon. Once inside, a combination of residential and military architecture, stay in the royal hammam with its beautiful green marbles. The whole will unfortunately be transformed into prison after the Islamic Revolution and seriously damaged.
